Running the Commons PoTD bot at Basque Wikipedia[edit]

Hello! I was just messing around and trying to find out how the bot works, but before starting installing it at Toolforge (which doesn't seem something easy), I would like to ask if there's any change to fun the bot at Basque Wikipedia directly. Would it be possible for you? Thanks! Theklan (talk) 13:18, 3 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It should work without any changes. I could run it on Basque Wikipedia for you. — JJMC89 19:23, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! What do you need to make it happen? AFAIK you have bot permissions at euwiki. (Please, ping on answer) -Theklan (talk) 17:21, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Theklan: My bot isn't flagged on euwiki. To edit in its own userspace, does it need to be? On enwiki, it updates, User:JJMC89 bot/Commons picture of the day. Is that title okay for euwiki or would you like a different subpage? — JJMC89 00:13, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have flagged the bot now. That name seems correct, but you can use also /Commons eguneko irudia if it's the same amount of work. Theklan (talk) 07:00, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Theklan: It is running now. eu:User:JJMC89 bot/Commons eguneko irudia. If there is a PotD description on Commons in Basque it will be used as the caption. Otherwise, it falls back to the English one. — JJMC89 20:26, 25 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, so we need to translate the captions at Commons, I guess. Also, when does it run? Will it make the import at midnight every day? Theklan (talk) 20:29, 25 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Theklan: It will be a few seconds after the enwiki one, which happens daily at 00:07 UTC. c:Template:Potd/2024-05-26 lists the descriptions for tomorrow. — JJMC89 20:33, 25 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! It works perfectly! Theklan (talk) 20:47, 25 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again! Today it didn't took the :eu description, but it exists. Yesterdy it did it perfectly, so I don't know where the error is. Thanks. Theklan (talk) 08:14, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Theklan: You didn't use {{Potd description}}. — JJMC89 16:23, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, I translated directly the description using commons:Template:Potd/2024-05-27 (eu). How should I translate instead? Theklan (talk) 16:54, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Theklan: You should use {{Potd description}} on that page like the other languages do and you did for the prior day. — JJMC89 17:47, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, understood! thanks. Theklan (talk) 18:12, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Abraham Lincoln[edit]

Hi. I just want to alert you that I posted a comment at Talk:Abraham Lincoln about your edit to the Categories. Maurice Magnus (talk) 14:57, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't edit the categories. My bot renamed the category at the direction of another administrator per the outcome of the discussion linked in the edit summary. — JJMC89 16:26, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
