... that even though about 100,000 mines were laid in Le Touquet during World War II, making it the most mined city in France, it was the first resort in northern France to open its beaches after the liberation?
... that for his first recital as the organist of the restored Frauenkirche in Dresden, Samuel Kummer chose music by Bach, Brahms, and himself?
A peanut, also known as a groundnut, is the fruit of Arachis hypogaea, a plant in the family Fabaceae. The peanut is classed as a grain legume rather than as a botanical nut, although in culinary and colloquial use it is generally treated as one. Uses of peanuts include consumption as a snack and in various dishes, peanut butter, and – due to its high oil content – as a vegetable oil. Peanuts cause allergic reactions in some humans. Clockwise from top left, this photograph shows a peanut with its shell cracked open, a whole unshelled peanut, an unpeeled peanut seed, a halved peeled seed, and a whole peeled seed. This picture was focus-stacked from 31 separate images.Photograph credit: Ivar Leidus

Still frame from upcoming Star Trek film depicting disruptor fire from Klingon warbird to Federation outpost. The bunker glows red-hot just before it explodes. Gotcha again! You're so gullible! It's actually lasers from Starfire Optical Range.

This is here to remind me I found out art is more interesting than I thought when I happened to notice the author had painted her since early youth, and it was a somewhat common practice to do so. Seeing the development of these ladies portrayed by these artists reminds me of popular age progression videos. The evolution of copy culture is here...

Hand painting circa early 2000's on entrance to primitive communal public toilets. This penis shaped figure and other overtly sexual depictions of female genitalia were frequently displayed in this manner during the period. It was a barbaric and hedonistic age so it is believed the paintings may be representations or symbols of the many gods they worshipped which might have included phallic and fertility god worship. It is also believed the privacy features built into the public lavatory may have been included so patrons could also use the time as a private place of reflection or prayer to these gods as they paid tribute to them with their devotional paintings in a sacred ritual known as the Bathroom Graffiti.{{cetacean needed}}
