Not necessarily. Although BBC1 started colour officially on 15 November 1969, a number of programmes had previously been transmitted in colour on the channel. Certainly the editions of Play of the Month between March and October 1969 were recorded in colour, and transmitted from those recordings. Nick Cooper (talk) 11:37, 18 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
