TV show[edit]

What about that TV show Studs? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.49.220.19 (talkcontribs) 2005-08-15T11:16:37.

De-trainwreck[edit]

This page had quite a bit of vandalism. The final two items I have left on the page do not seem relevant, they are:

  1. A student activity center, at a college or university
  2. STUDS - Spouses Trailing Under Duress Successfully an organization of male trailing spouses (Brussels, London, Paris)

The use of "stud" as an abbreviation for student union seems dubious. While "Spouses Trailing Under Duress Successfully" does produce 100-some results from google, they all seem to be from the same article. Codeczero 04:07, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of "attractive male" usage[edit]

@GB fan: Per MOS:DABMENTION, the topic must be mentioned in the target article, but there is no requirement that the search term must be included. For example, FAP lists slang usage for masturbation, yet the masturbation article does not contain the term "fap". Cum links to Vaginal discharge and ejaculation, neither of which contains the term "cum" in prose. feminist (talk) 05:32, 4 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I might have misinterpreted your comment the first time I read it. DABMENTION is talking about the term being mentioned on the page. In this case the word stud should be mentioned on either the physical attractiveness or the Sexual attraction article and then only that one should be listed here. If it is mentioned on both then that should be two entries on this page. Just because someone decided to put something that isn't mentioned there doesn't mean this page sould be wrong also. ~ GB fan 10:25, 4 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Where does it say that the search term must be listed on the target article? The topic is a (physically or sexually) attractive male, which is covered in the two linked articles. I looked at both Physical attractiveness and Sexual attraction and I don't think it would be encyclopedic or WP:DUE to include this meaning of the term "stud". feminist (talk) 10:53, 4 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Or put it in another way: a reader searching for the term "stud" won't be looking for its dictionary definition, so it's unhelpful to include that in an article. Yet it's reasonable for a reader to want to search for what makes a man attractive. feminist (talk) 10:55, 4 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
When it is talking about the topic in that sentence it is talking about the topic of the DAB page. In this case the topic is "stud". So stud (the topic) has to be mentioned in the articles we link to from this page. If someone wants to know dictionary definitions they should go to a dictionary. There is a link to Wikitionary included at the top of the page and it has a definition about sexually attractive. ~ GB fan 11:27, 4 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
