Meaning[edit]

Uh, "strath" is Scots, "valley of". No idea what "spe" is. Trekphiler 03:20, 19 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I would imagine that Spe is the Gaelic for the River Spey Fraslet 17:23, 19 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Map needs[edit]

This needs a map that indicates which parts of traditional Strathspey are in which modern council areas, and preferably also shows the former shire boundary, and and specific civil parishes within or overlapping the area. A large ratio of readers of articles like this are genealogists working with placenames that considerably pre-date both the 1996 and 1975 local-government changes.  — SMcCandlish ¢ 😼  15:17, 4 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
