Literary quotes

I don't have a reference beyond my vague memory of the game, but I believe the passwords for contacts, phonecalls, etc, were always literary quotes, which were found scattered through the game. Ie, The contact/clue says, "Moby Dick, page 93, line 17" or "Genesis - 11,8" and you must type in that line (Usually something apropo to the setting). Year of release discussion

At the Fahrenheit 451 article's talk page, I have started a discussion about the year of this game's release. 1986 may not be accurate. Any input you can provide would be appreciated. Just some more information to support my concerns. This link, for instance, suggests it was released in 1984 and also has a screenshot of the titlescreen showing a 1984 copyright. Other web pages like this one suggest 1986, but for all we know they are using the Wikipedia as their source. I have found yet another source suggesting the release year was 1984. Fahrenheit 451: The Teacher's Companion by Nick Otten has on page 12:

Computer game: "Fahrenheit 451" (1984) Computer software, Trillium Corp. This is an "interactive fiction" adventure story. (Note the recent release date of this program.) Ray Bradbury himself designed parts of the game. Reviewed in TIME magazine, May 13, 1985.

I have changed mentions of the year to 1984. I have purposed tried not to say the game was released in 1984 because I'm still not entirely certain, more just like 80% certain it was released in 1984. The game is certainly copyright 1984. And reviews were certainly made in 1985. But it's still a possibility the reviews were done using pre-release and the actual game was delayed until 1986 for some reason. This seems like a longshot though. I haven't completely translated all the German references, so it's possible some of them contain information that solves the question. Jason Quinn (talk) 15:43, 25 September 2013 (UTC)
