Lucas Martínez Quarta (born 10 May 1996) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Serie A club Fiorentina and the Argentina national team.[2][3]

Club career[edit]

River Plate[edit]

A product of River Plate's youth academy, Martínez Quarta made his professional debut for the club in November 2016. He was a member of the 2018 Copa Libertadores winning side, starting in the first leg of the final against Boca Juniors.

Fiorentina[edit]

On 5 October 2020, Martínez Quarta signed a five-year contract with Serie A club Fiorentina.[4] On 7 March 2021, he scored his first goal in a 3–3 draw against Parma.[5] On 26 October 2023, he netted his first goal in European competitions and provided an assist in a 6–0 victory over Čukarički in the Conference League.[6] On 3 June 2024, he extended his contract with the club until 2028.[7]

International career[edit]

Martínez Quarta made his debut for the Argentina national team on 5 September 2019, in a friendly 0–0 draw against Chile, playing the full 90 minutes.[8]
